Ela Bosak is a REACT Operator in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction. She is unlocked by default and built around control, survival, and fast reaction play.

Her mindset is clear in her quote: “No one can prepare for chaos, just have to know how to survive it.” — Ela

This article covers Ela Bosak’s role in REACT, her psychological profile themes, her loadout options, and the exact way her GRZMOT Mines work in missions.

Who Is Ela Bosak in REACT?

Ela wasn’t the first choice for REACT. REACT still brought her in because her tactical skills are hard to match.

She has a reputation for pushing back against authority. That can make her unpredictable at times. REACT valued her anyway, because her survivalist ability fits incursions in Chimera-infested areas.

Why REACT Selected Her

REACT’s decision focused on results. Ela’s survivalist talent and field instincts outweighed concerns about hierarchy.

Her GRZMOT concussive mines also fit REACT’s needs. They can incapacitate Archæans and leave them open for attacks and Takedowns.

Psychological Profile: What REACT Values in Ela

REACT’s profile highlights two themes: survival and intelligence.

Her survivalist tactics and intelligence gathering are described as valuable in Chimera environments. The entry cross-references intel protocols, which signals that REACT links her style to structured team information and decision-making.

Questions Authority, But It Helps the Team

The assessment frames her behavior as useful. It describes her habit of questioning the status quo as a strength.

She does not accept things as they are. She questions everything. REACT views that trait as useful during high-risk incursions, where assumptions fail fast.

“Anti-Authoritarian” Reframed

REACT suggests her anti-authoritarian reputation needs another look. The profile notes her experience working with elite operators has tempered that trend.

The assessment labels the probability as high. In simple terms, REACT expects she can work within a team even if she pushes back on strict hierarchy.

Gameplay Role: Light Armored Control Operator

Ela is a Light Armored Operator. She works best when the team needs area control around objectives, safer space for movement, and short windows to deal with tough targets.

Her kit centers on one ability: the GRZMOT Mine.

GRZMOT Mine: What It Does and How It Works

rainbow-six-sieges-queen-of-chaos-ela-bosak

Ela starts with three Grzmot Mines. These mines recharge over time and act as sticky proximity traps that release a concussive blast.

They can support area defense, interrupt enemies near objectives, and help set up Takedowns by stunning Archæans.

How to Place GRZMOT Mines

Ela can throw mines onto almost any surface. That includes walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture.

After the mine sticks, it takes about one second to arm. Once armed, it can detonate if an enemy triggers it.

While it arms, the game shows a visual radius. That radius shows how far away an enemy can be to trigger the mine.

A visual detail can mislead new players. The “sticky bag” on the mine puffs up over time, but that is only visual. Ela does not need to wait for it before throwing the mine where she wants it.

Trigger Radius and Blast Effects

The mine triggers when an enemy enters its proximity.

  • Trigger radius is 4 meters by default.

  • At Advancement level 7, the trigger radius increases to 8 meters.

When triggered, the mine explodes right away. It concusses players and stuns Archæans caught in the blast.

The concussion lasts 5 seconds on players. If Ela gets hit by her own blast, the effect is halved on her.

For Archæans, the mine stuns for 5 seconds at first. At Advancement level 2 and up, the stun duration becomes 10 seconds.

Recharge Timers (Exact Values)

Ela’s mines recharge one at a time. The recharge time changes as she advances.

  • Levels 1–6: 1 mine every 90 seconds

  • Levels 7–9: 1 mine every 75 seconds

  • Level 10: 1 mine every 60 seconds

This matters for planning. Early on, each mine is a bigger decision. Later, Ela can reset her defenses more often.

A Key Survival Tool While Downed

Ela can still use her kit while downed. She can immediately detonate a reserve mine with the throw button to stun enemies around her.

That creates space and time for a revive. It can also stop enemies from finishing the engagement.

Resistance to Concussive Effects

Ela has built-in resistance to certain concussive effects. She is resistant to concussion from Sower Mines and from projectiles used by Tormentors, Apexes, and Proteans.

This does not replace careful positioning. It does make her more stable when the mission throws concussive pressure at the squad.

Detection Radius Note at Level 7

At level 7, Ela receives the Blast Radius upgrade. The detection radius increases too, but it is still slightly smaller than the blast radius.

That detail matters when you place mines for early warning. Enemies may still get clipped by the blast even if the trigger zone feels tight.

Loadout: Weapons Available to Ela Bosak

Ela’s loadout grows with Advancement. Her arsenal gives her different ways to handle range, crowds, and tougher targets.

Primary Weapons

Ela’s primaries include:

  • Scorpion EVO 3 A1 (available immediately)

  • FO-12 Shotgun (unlocks at Level 3)

  • LMG-E Light Machine Gun (unlocks at Level 6)

  • M762 Assault Rifle (unlocks at Level 9)

Secondary Weapon

Ela’s secondary is:

  • RG15 Handgun

Her kit does not change based on weapon choice. The weapon set changes how she takes advantage of stun windows and objective defense.

Advancement: What Changes as Ela Levels Up

Ela’s advancement rewards focus on her mines, plus movement and durability boosts.

Early Progression: Longer Stuns and More Options

At Level 2, Ela’s stun duration increases to 10 seconds. That is a major jump in how safely the team can approach a stunned Archæan.

At Level 3, she gains access to the FO-12 shotgun. That gives another option for close-range pressure during stun windows.

Mid Progression: Mobility and Team Utility

At Level 4, Ela gets a speed increase. Movement speed rises by 30%.

At Level 5, her revive perk gives teammates a 20 Health Boost when she revives them. That turns revives into stronger resets, not just emergency saves.

At Level 6, she gains access to the LMG-E.

Late Progression: Bigger Mine Radius and Better Durability

At Level 7, her mine radius increases to 8 meters and her recharge time reduces to 75 seconds. This is a clear shift into stronger area control.

At Level 8, her Armor III perk reduces incoming damage by 20%. That adds stability when she holds space near objectives.

At Level 9, she gains access to the M762.

At Level 10, her GRZMOT capacity increases to 4 mines and recharge time reduces to 60 seconds. This is her best sustain point for repeated setups across a mission.

Playing Ela Bosak with a Team

Ela’s profile and kit point to one job: create short, reliable control windows.

Place mines to protect objectives and common paths. Use the stun windows to make hard enemies easier to handle.

Her revive perk also matters. If the squad expects risk, she can turn a revive into a stronger recovery by adding the health boost.

Common Mistakes to Avoid with GRZMOT Mines

New players often treat mines as simple traps. They work better as planned control points.

Placing mines without thinking about the arming delay can waste them. They take about a second to arm, so throw them early when setting up.

Waiting for the “sticky bag” puff effect also wastes time. The puff is visual and does not change performance.

Final Thoughts on Ela Bosak

Ela Bosak is a default-unlocked REACT Operator built around survival thinking and control play. Her GRZMOT Mines define her value, and her advancement path steadily improves stun reliability, radius, recharge, and capacity.

Learn the mine timing, protect key spaces, and use stun windows to keep missions stable when things get messy.
