As the dust settles on the group stage of VALORANT Champions Paris 2025, the competition now enters the playoffs. After two weeks of intense matches the top eight teams have officially secured their place in the quarterfinals.

The group stage concluded with MIBR sweeping RRQ 2-0 in the final series, immediately followed by the playoffs draw that determines the road to the finals. With seeding rules in place to prevent teams from facing former group opponents on the same side of the bracket, the stage is now perfectly set for blockbuster clashes.

Champions Paris Playoffs: Opening Matchups

Fnatic vs DRX

In the first draw of the playoffs, Fnatic is pitted against DRX, a matchup steeped in history and rivalry. These two titans have battled each other across multiple international tournaments, with their most recent clash taking place at Champions 2024, where DRX got the upper hand. Led by their iconic captains, Boaster for Fnatic and MaKo for DRX, both teams enter this stage with immense experience. Given their storied past, this duel is shaping up to be one of the standout quarterfinal bouts, with pride, prestige, and legacy all in the mix.

Paper Rex vs G2 Esports

Another highly anticipated contest will see Paper Rex go head-to-head with G2 Esports, a meeting many consider a dream match arriving too early in the bracket. Paper Rex are riding high after capturing their first-ever international trophy this season, while G2 step into Paris as reigning three-time Americas champions, carrying the aura of a dynasty. The two sides last collided at Masters Toronto, where PRX earned the victory before going on to lift the title. With both squads boasting explosive firepower and fearless playstyles, this showdown carries the atmosphere of a grand final.

Team Heretics vs MIBR

In the other half of the bracket, Team Heretics will go up against MIBR. Heretics arrive as one of the hottest squads in 2025, having recently clinched the Esports World Cup, while MIBR make their first deep playoffs run on the global stage. Built around former Champions winner aspas, the Brazilians are considered underdogs due to their limited international experience, though their unpredictable style could spark a genuine upset.

NRG vs GIANTX

Finally, NRG takes on GIANTX in a matchup flying under the radar. While perhaps the least flashy match on paper, both teams have defied expectations to reach this point. NRG topped their group with confidence, while GIANTX managed to beat both Sentinels and XLG Esports, despite fielding one of the most inexperienced rosters at the event. Given their resilience, this series could easily provide one of the tournament’s surprises.

With the playoff bracket locked in, the road to the grand finals in Paris promises thrilling battles, shocking upsets, and unforgettable moments as one team marches toward lifting the ultimate trophy of 2025.
