PARIVISION Are the PREMIER SERIES Champions

PARIVISION has been going through a pretty rough patch and things started to turn around after they won the PREMIER SERIES, playing against an equally renewed Nigma Galaxy.

Let's take a look at how the Grand Finalists performed, what we can gather as new information, and how other big teams performed in this prelude to PGL Wallachia Season 8.

The PREMIER SERIES filled the gap between the ESL One and the PGL Wallachia in the first half of april.

PARIVISION: Seeded in the Playoffs

PARIVISION's path to the Grand Finals was relatively easier due to their status as a Playoff seed. They were matched against GamerLegion in the Upper Bracket and won their debut 2-0.

Going forward, in the Semifinals, PARI faced Nigma Galaxy for the first time in the tournament. They won again 2-0 and advanced to the Upper Bracket Final.

PARIVISION had a perfect run with three 2-0 victories during the Playoffs.

Finally, PARIVISION finished their perfect run by winning once again 2-0 against MOUZ in the Upper Bracket Final. This result put PARI in the Grand Final, with MOUZ waiting for their counterpart in the Lower Bracket Final.

Nigma Galaxy: Going All the Way

Nigma Galaxy had a much harder journey to the Grand Final, starting in the Group Stage. They secured first place in Group B with a 3-1 record and were placed in the Upper Bracket against Team Spirit.

The combination of an ongoing crisis within Team Spirit and an apparent rise in Nigma's morale allowed Nigma to win their Upper Bracket debut 2-1 after turning the series around, despite Spirit starting with the advantage.

Nigma Galaxy getting to the Grand Final was really unexpected after SumaiL left.

After getting knocked down to the Lower Bracket by PARIVISION, Nigma Galaxy earned yet another impressive 2-1 victory against Team Liquid. The Semifinal was another comeback, this time against GamerLegion.

Finally, the Lower Bracket Final was one last battle that confirmed their strength, as Nigma Galaxy defeated MOUZ 2-0 and punched their ticket to the Grand Final.

Unfortunately for Nigma Galaxy, reaching a Grand Final and winning one are still separated by a best-of-five, which came in the form of a rested and stronger PARIVISION.

PARI completely dominated the first map and after securing a hard-earned victory on the second, they won 3-0, ending Nigma's fairytale run and crowning PARIVISION as the PREMIER SERIES Champions.

We all hope this is the first step of their journey back to the top of the professional Dota 2 circuit.

PARIVISION earned half of the total prize pool for first place, $50,000. Nigma Galaxy took $25,000 for second place, while MOUZ ended up with an additional $13,000 for third place.

PARI Goes Up, Liquid Goes Down

Despite being a smaller event, the PREMIER SERIES gives us important information concerning big organizations. On the brighter side, PARIVISION has taken a solid first step in trying to get back on track ahead of PGL Wallachia Season 8.

Nigma Galaxy also performed well, but their situation is circumstantial, considering the absence of many strong teams from the PREMIER SERIES and the retirement of Seleri shortly before the tournament.

On the other hand, Team Spirit dives deeper into their long-lasting crisis. Some rumors point to Miposhka returning to Dota, but not as a player, and Collapse taking time off only pushes the dark dragon further into the abyss.

Finally, after placing in the Top 3 of the last three tournaments, Team Liquid seems to have been greatly affected by the new patch. Losing against Nigma in a smaller tournament might be due either to saving strategies for Wallachia or to failing to adapt to the new patch quickly enough.

Closing Thoughts

The PREMIER SERIES was a nice interlude to get teams used to patch 7.41, but now things will get really serious. PGL Wallachia Season 8 will begin on April 16, and all teams will show the results of their analysis of the new meta.

For now, PARIVISION and Nigma come out of the PREMIER SERIES with a better impression, while Team Spirit and Team Liquid lose their footing before an important event. We will follow all of them closely in the near future, so keep an eye on the news section of the Strafe website!
