Overwatch has revealed its newest Tank hero, D.Mon, in a cinematic trailer. Hailing from South Korea, this MEKA Squad member will join the game's roster as the 53rd hero, following Shion's release in Season 3.

She will be only the second MEKA Squad hero to enter the game, and the first in over a decade, as D.Va was added back in 2015.

D.Mon will join Overwatch with Season 4 on August 11.

D.Mon Hero Trailer Breakdown

The cinematic trailer opens with an attack on Busan, where the Junkers are seen wreaking havoc across the city. D.Mon, D.Va, and the rest of the MEKA Squad are deployed to defend their home from the foreign threat.

Simultaneously, Talon, led by Vendetta, conducts the extraction of an EMP device from the MEKA base. Amid the chaos, Junker Queen is shown instructing Wrecking Ball to distract the MEKA Squad, ensuring the device's seamless extraction.

The plan works: D.Mon neglects Captain Myung's orders, prioritizing civilian safety over the EMP device. Interestingly, the destruction caused by the Junkers, as well as the missing EMP device, is reflected in the Busan map changes arriving in Season 4.

The MEKA Squad manages to save the city. However, due to D.Mon’s insubordination, the EMP meant to protect Busan from the Omnic faction Gwishin falls into Talon’s hands, potentially leading to more destruction in the future.

Despite the damage, the MEKA Squad holds onto hope of recovering the device. They've managed to capture Wrecking Ball, expecting Hammond to lead them back to the Junkers and, ultimately, to Talon.

D.Mon’s Weapons, Abilities, and Appearance Explored

Compared to D.Va and the other MEKA Squad members, D.Mon pilots a larger mech that appears more combat‑oriented. Its top hitbox looks less bulky than D.Va's, but given that both are mechs, similarities wouldn't be surprising.

The animated trailer shows her wielding a laser sword on her right arm, which may serve as her primary weapon. Notably, she is expected to have a shield as well, on her left arm, though the trailer does not show it. We also see her perform an overhead strike with the sword, similar to Vendetta. Like the Talon leader, this strike could be performed after a combination of swings, or it might function as a separate ability.

Much like D.Va, D.Mon may carry boosters, allowing her to fly briefly. One part of the trailer shows her dashing and slicing an enemy. While this could simply be a combination of boosters and primary fire, it could also be an ability.

The trailer also offers a moment where D.Mon is shown slamming Wrecking Ball downward. This certainly looks like an ability, different from her primary fire, as it uses the hand not holding the sword.

When Will D.Mon Arrive in Overwatch?

D.Mon will join the Overwatch roster with Season 4 on August 11, 2026. She will be the sole hero release of the season, arriving alongside a new Battle Pass, Mythic skins, map changes, and more, all of which we'll explore in detail in a separate article.

Additionally, D.Mon's gameplay video is set to release tomorrow, August 7, giving us a deeper look at her abilities, perks, and overall playstyle. So, stay tuned for that as well.
