Blizzard has rolled out a new hotfix balance update for Overwatch 2 on March 25, affecting multiple heroes across the tank, damage, and support roles. This patch fine-tunes the competitive landscape, making adjustments to powerful abilities while improving underperforming ones.

Replay codes from the March 18, 2025 patch remain available, and these balance changes apply to both 5v5 and 6v6 game modes. Let's dive into the details.

  • Berserker Passive: Overhealth conversion rate reduced from 50% → 40%.

Roadhog

Roadhog gets buffs to his sustain and ultimate economy, making him a more formidable tank.

  • Take a Breather: Maximum healing increased from 400 → 450.

  • Peacekeeper:
    • Primary fire falloff range increased from 20 → 25 meters.
    • Secondary fire damage increased from 45 → 50.

  • Base health reduced from 225 → 150.
  • Shield health increased from 0 → 75.

Soldier: 76

Soldier 76’s primary fire now benefits from larger projectiles, making him slightly more forgiving at range.

Sojourn

Sojourn’s mobility takes a hit, making her harder to escape or reposition as frequently.

  • Power Slide:
    • Cooldown increased from 7 → 8 seconds.
    • Maximum duration reduced from 1.2 → 1 second.

  • Biotic Grenade:
    • Cooldown increased from 12 → 14 seconds (non-6v6 modes).
    • Cooldown increased from 10 → 12 seconds (6v6 mode).
  • Shrike Self-Nano Boost duration is also reduced, limiting its impact

Final Thoughts

This hotfix brings a mix of nerfs and buffs, focusing on balancing both strong and weak heroes. These changes will likely impact the meta, encouraging new strategies and counterplay. Keep an eye on how these updates shift the balance in upcoming competitive matches.
