The Overwatch 10th Anniversary Event is now live, celebrating ten years of the game.

Introduced with the Season 2 midseason patch, the event offers an extensive set of rewards, including event‑exclusive Anniversary Loot Boxes. Through these loot boxes, players can access a variety of both new and classic cosmetics, some designed by developers and others by the community. Players have until June 2 to complete the three sets of challenges and earn the maximum rewards.

Below, we explain how the Overwatch Anniversary Event works and break down all of its challenges and rewards.

How Does the Overwatch 10th Anniversary Event Work?

The Overwatch Anniversary Event takes place over three weeks. Each week, players have access to a set of challenges that redeem various rewards.

As part of the event, the game will feature a limited‑time Arcade mode each week, starting with Classic 2016 in Week 1, followed by Mystery Showdown and Classic 2020 in the next two weeks, respectively. Several of the weekly challenges will be tied to these modes.

Each week consists of 12 challenges, except for Week 1, which includes four additional objectives called Meta Challenges. Although listed under the first week's challenges, these are more like end‑game goals; you'll need to complete most (if not all) of the other challenges to finish them. Challenges unlock weekly: Week 2 becomes available on May 19, and Week 3 on May 26.

Notably, the event also features a Global Community Progress Bar that can lead to bonus rewards. This bar tracks the community's collective achievements. Upon reaching the first global milestone each week, players earn a Loot Box. Crossing the next two milestones rewards an Epic Loot Box and a Legendary Loot Box, respectively.
