The IEM Atlanta 2026 Grand Final is set, and it is the kind of matchup that makes you stop and say: wait, really? Natus Vincere will face GamerLegion in a best-of-five on May 17 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Two Counter-Strike teams, completely different paths, and only one trophy.

NaVi Eliminating Giants

NaVi's run at IEM Atlanta has been cinematic. They had a bumpy start in the Group Stage, falling to Legacy in the Upper Bracket Finals 2-1, but they refused to fold that easily. From the lower bracket, they punched through and found themselves face-to-face with the number 1 ranked team in the world, Team Vitality, in the Quarterfinals.

What happened next left the entire CS2 community stunned. NaVi took down Vitality in three maps, Dust2, Anubis, and Inferno, with that final map being an outright dismantling at 13-3. It was the first time Vitality has finished outside the top 4 at an event since January 2025. And NaVi wasn't done. In the Semifinals, they swept BetBoom 2-0, winning Ancient 13-8 and Nuke 13-6 with a level of composure that made it all look routine.

The Underdogs Who Just Won't Stop

GamerLegion's road to the final was equally impressive and arguably even more unexpected. The European squad started strong, making their way through the Upper Bracket before NaVi knocked them down 2-1 in the group stage. That loss could have been a death sentence. It wasn't.

GamerLegion regrouped, came back through the Lower Bracket, and dismantled Astralis to earn a Semifinal spot. Then came Legacy, a Brazilian side flying high and full of momentum. GamerLegion took that one 2-1 as well, Ancient 13-9, Mirage 3-13, Inferno 13-10, in a match that went down to the wire. The roster featuring REZ, Tauson, Snax, hypex, and PR has looked relentless throughout this entire event, and now they have a chance to win the whole thing.

Our Prediction: NaVi Takes It, But Not Easily

NaVi are the clear favorites. The world ranking gap is real and the quality of opponents NaVi has already beaten at this event is a strong indicator of where this team is right now. Taking down Vitality the way they did, then brushing BetBoom aside without breaking a sweat, shows a NaVi squad operating at the highest level when it matters most.

That said, GamerLegion has already beaten NaVi once in this tournament in the Group Stage. They know how to win that matchup, and a team that has clawed back from the lower bracket twice doesn't carry the mental weight of a team with nothing left to prove. Expect a real fight, probably a 3-2 or a competitive 3-1, but when the dust settles, we are picking NaVi to claim the IEM Atlanta 2026 title.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
