Feel the Rythm: VALORANT Reveals New Controller Agent Miks

Riot Games used the Grand Final of the VALORANT Masters Santiago to reveal the newest addition to the Agent roster: Miks, a Controller from Croatia who will be joining the game on March 18, 2026 as part of the Season 2026 // Act 2.

With an infectious personality and powers built around sonic energy, he looks ready to shake up how teams coordinate their plays on the battlefield.

Who is Miks?

Miks steps onto the stage channeling pure sonic energy. His whole identity is built around one clear idea: getting the squad to move in sync and control the pace of the match together. More than just another utility-focused Agent, he feels like a fusion of music and combat. His powers are directly inspired by sound waves, and that theme runs through everything, from the wave-like visual effects in his abilities to the sound panels on his outfit and the festival bracelets he wears.

And to celebrate the reveal, Riot has just dropped a launch video featuring "Clarity (VALORANT x BUNT. Remix)", a fresh version of Zedd’s iconic track remixed by rising DJ and producer BUNT. According to Jonny Altepeter, Riot Games’ Head of Music Supervision, the remix was the perfect fit because it captures the Agent’s contagious energy and vibrant sonic identity.

Miks' Abilities

Miks’ kit was designed for players who value teamwork and enjoy setting up their teammates to succeed. Here is a closer look at each ability:

  • Harmonize (Q): Aim at an ally and fire to activate a Combat Stim on both yourself and the targeted ally, which refreshes on every kill. Alternate fire grants the buff to the player only. This dynamic rewards aggressive, well-coordinated team plays.
  • M-Pulse (C): Alternate fire toggles between Concussion and Heal modes. Fire to deploy the device. Once placed, it emits sonic waves that either concuss or heal nearby players. It is a highly flexible tool that can be adapted to whatever the round needs.
  • Waveform (E): Equip a Tactical Map, set your desired locations, then fire to generate Smokes at those positions. It offers a classic Controller setup, but with a distinct interface that makes strategic planning feel smoother.
  • Bassquake (X - Ultimate): Charge and launch a burst of Sonic Radiance forward that pushes, deafens, and slows any players caught in its path. According to the developers, the sound effect is meant to mimic the pounding bass you feel standing next to a speaker at a live show, when the sound pressure feels almost physical. It is an ultimate with huge swing potential during executes and retakes.

Agent Gear

As players unlock Miks, they can earn exclusive rewards across 10 gear tiers:

  • Tier 1: Hands Up Spray
  • Tier 2: VALORANT Miks Player Card
  • Tier 3: Tutz Tutz Title
  • Tier 4: Feel the Beat Spray
  • Tier 5: 2,000 Kingdom Credits
  • Tier 6: Backstage Pass Gun Buddy
  • Tier 7: Codename Miks Spray
  • Tier 8: Feeling the Beat Title
  • Tier 9: Music Is Resistance Player Card
  • Tier 10: Classic - Good Beat (exclusive skin)

What the Developers Had to Say

Riot Games also shared a Q&A with Kevin Meier, VALORANT Game Designer, giving fans a look behind the scenes at how Miks came together. One of the biggest talking points was the Agent’s design goal: creating a pick for players who enjoy a more collaborative style and feel rewarded by empowering their teammates.

Miks' kit was created for players who approach the game with a social mindset and find it rewarding to support their allies. With this Agent, players can have a major impact on the battlefield that goes beyond aim and mechanics, especially through a targeted Combat Stim that helps teammates turn crucial moments into kills. We hope Miks becomes a great choice for players who want to queue up and have fun with their group.

Meier also talked about how music directly shaped the Agent’s mechanics, visuals, and story, with the creative process actually starting from the soundtrack before expanding into each ability’s effects. He described Miks’ playstyle as one that revolves around rhythm and adaptation: knowing when to drop smokes, when to heal teammates, and when to use Combat Stim to turn key moments in your favor. According to him, the character’s backstory will be explored further in future content.

From a mechanics standpoint, sound waves inspired his abilities. Miks releases sound waves from his body and channels them into his M Pulse device, which is inspired by music equipment like synthesizers, MIDI, and sequencers. Music and sound also inspired the names of his abilities. When it came to designing the sound for those abilities, we created the music first, then pulled out the most vibrant elements and built the sound effects from there.
Visually, Miks' musical identity is clear throughout his design, from the sound wave visual effects in his abilities, to the bright wave-pattern colors and sound panels on his outfit, all the way to the festival bracelets he wears. Music was also an important part of Miks' life before joining VALORANT, and we are really excited for everyone to learn more about that in the future.
