The third season of CDL, CDL 2023, will kick off on 2nd December with the online qualifiers for the Major 1 Pro-Am tournament. The major will kick off just 35 days after the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which is six days away.

As we already know from the CDL 2023 announcement, the CDL action will start as soon as 2nd December 2022 with Online qualifiers for Major I Pro-Am Tournament.

This time, the qualifying tournament will span three weeks, and the LAN will be hosted over the weekend by different cities. Major I will be an exception where there'd be only two weeks of the qualifying tournament.

The qualifiers will consist of three weeks of Online qualifiers, which will determine the seeding for the LAN tournament. Major I will be an exception to this with only two weeks of qualifiers.

All tournaments will feature Hardpoint, Search and Destroy and Control Gane modes. Major I will be a Pro-Am tournament with the Challengers teams battling the pros for CDL points and $500k.

The challenger's teams will play in a qualification tournament to participate in Major I. The pro qualification will be similar to last year.

Bounty Matches will also be re-introduced in the 2023 Season. The point system will be the same as last year, and the total prize money will stay at $5M.

 

2023 Challengers Season:

The Challengers Cup will be played for all four regions viz NA, EU, APAC, and LATAM, and you can read about the details and schedule for the same here.The Challengers Open will be on LAN, with eight teams from all the regions competing in the Challengers Open on LAN.

The qualification will be based on Regional Leaderboard. 3 NA, 3 EU, 1 LATAM, and 1 APAC team will play the Challengers open in Raleigh alongside Major I. CDL will provide Hotel & Travel to all the qualified teams to compete against the CDL teams at Major I. The top four teams from Challengers will play alongside the Pro teams on Stage.

A total of twelve teams will play the Challengers Elite in EU and NA. The action will conclude in the Challengers Finals. The Challengers Finals will feature 16 teams from around the world. There'd be ten teams directly qualifying from Regional Leaderboard, 1 team per region from LCQ, and two from the Final Challengers Open.

The challengers cup starts next month and is just a few weeks away. The tournament will deliver all the hype. The first Call of Duty LAN of next season just eight weeks away. The next season of CDL will be full of tournaments and action.
