Blast R6 Major Copenhagen: The Teams are In!

The Blast R6 Major Copenhagen starts the 24th of April 2023. This comes after the regional leagues have ended, and the final few teams have qualified for the Major. This is the first Major being organized by Blast for Rainbow Six Siege.

24 teams will go face each other in the Major for the winners share of a $750,000 prize pool. And win much needed points for the Six Invitational, which will be held early next year.

The Format:

The tournament will take place in 3 phases:

  • Phase 1: April 24 - 27, 2023
    • GSL-style: double elimination bracket, top 2 advances in playoffs
      • Each group has 4 teams, one team from each region.
      • All non-elimination matches are Bo1
      • Lower Bracket Matches are Bo3
  • Top 2 teams from each group advance to Phase 2
  • Phase 2: April 29 - May 3, 2023
    • 16 Team Swiss System Format
      • All matches of the first 2 rounds of the bracket are Bo1
      • In the 3rd round of the bracket, non-elimination matches will be played in a Bo1 format, while elimination matches will be played in a Bo3 format
      • 4th and 5th rounds will be played entirely in a Bo3 format.
    • Seeding will be determined by Buccholz System (Click here for Buchholz System explanation)
  • Top 8 teams from Phase 2 advance to Phase 3
  • Phase 3: May 5 - 7, 2023
    • Single-Elimination bracket
    • All matches (excluding the Grand Final) are Bo3
    • Grand Final is Bo5, no map advantage.

These teams have qualified for Phase 1 through the various Regional Leagues and Last Chance Qualifier Tournaments. They are:

  2. Wolves Esports (Europe LCQ)
  3. Spacestation Gaming (North America League)
  4. Soniqs (North America LCQ)
  5. w7m Esports (Brazil League)
  6. Ninjas in Pyjamas (Brazil LCQ)
  7. NORTHEPTION (Japan League)
  8. Varrel (Japan LCQ)
  9. SANDBOX Gaming (South Korea League)
  10. LAVEGA Esports (South Korea LCQ)
  11. Six Karma (LATAM League)
  12. Reven Esports (LATAM LCQ)
  13. Fury (Asia League)
  14. Elevate (Asia LCQ)
  15. Team Bliss (Oceania League)
  16. Team Falcons (MENA League)

Phase 2:

These teams have directly advanced to Phase 2 because of their outstanding performance in the Regional Leagues. They are:

  1. Virtus.pro (Europe League)
  2. G2 Esports (Europe League)
  3. M80 (North America League)
  4. DarkZero Esports (North America League)
  5. Faze Clan (Brazil League)
  6. Team Liquid (Brazil League)
  7. SCARZ (Japan League)
  8. Dplus (South Korea League)
