Round 4 of the Blast R6 Copenhagen Major ended on 2nd of May 2023. Three more teams bit the bitter bullet of elimination, while the other 3 secured their place in the Final Stage Playoffs. All High Matches were BO1s, while the Low Matches are BO3s.

Round 4 High Matches

Game 1: SZ vs NIP

Starting off the High Matches, NIP took the first win of the night against SZ 7-2 in Skyscraper. SZ were able to put up a decent fight on their Defense side, but NIP were just better. They managed to win 4 rounds on the attack, and 3 consecutive rounds on their defense to clinch the win.

Game 2: Soniqs vs Wolves

Soniqs had a dominating game against the Wolves, as they completely crushed the opposition in a 7-3 win on Bank. Only able to retaliate twice on their defense, Wolves had a hard time trying to cope with the Soniqs attack. When the sides were flipped, Wolves started off strong, but Soniqs managed to take the game anyway.

Game 3: G2 vs VirtusPro

Last game of the High Matches, G2 had a commanding win against the Russian outfit, at 7-2 on Kafe Dostoyevsky. VirtusPro started off strong, winning 2 rounds on attack straight away. But then G2 had a 7 round win streak, as they won all of their remaining defense rounds, as well the 3 attack rounds needed to win the map.

Round 4 Low Matches

Game 1: SSG vs Dplus

Dplus was the first victim of the night, as they were eliminated by SSG after losing 2-0 to them. SSG had a tight grip on Border, as they took the win 7-2. Things started off a bit rocky for both sides on Villa, but SSG had a better defense side which allowed them the win 7-3.

Game 2: MNM vs M80

M80 had to bite the bullet, as they were defeated by MNM in a 3-map saga. Skyscraper started of strong from MNM, but M80 managed to push the map into Overtime, and steal the win 8-7 from right under MNM’s noses. The Marshmallows returned the favor on Clubhouse, as they pushed the map into overtime, and snatched the win 8-7. Final map was Oregon, where both teams gave their all in a grueling matchup. But MNM managed to come out on top, winning the map and the game at 7-5.

Game 3: DarkZero vs Liquid

Final taste of heartbreak for the day was given by Liquid to DarkZero, as the veteran-led team fell 2-0 to the Brazilian Giants. Clubhouse started off as a balanced affair, but Liquid quickly managed to get their bearings together, as they took the win 7-4. The same can’t be said for Border, as Liquid had a complete chokehold on the map. Canadian and his purple soldiers could only manage one round win before they handed the win over at 7-1.

Round 5:

SZ, SSG, VirtusPro, MNM, Wolves and Liquid will face off in Round 5 for the final 3 qualifying spots of the Final Stage of the Blast R6 Copenhagen Major. The other 3 teams will join Dplus, M80 and DarkZero at the airport.
