The Semifinals of BLAST Open Spring 2025 promise to deliver a clash of titans when Team Vitality and Team Spirit climb to the stage to at the MEO Arena in Lisbon this Saturday, March 29th.

The match will feature an intense battle between two of the very best teams in Counter-Strike at the moment, but only one can remain standing. Which of these two giants of the game will move on to fight for the trophy in the tournament's Grand Finals when all is said and done?

The road so far

Vitality dominate the competition

Team Vitality heads into this Semifinal bout after rampaging through the tournament with a run that serves to represent the team's form over the course of the year so far. After winning both IEM Katowice and the ESL Pro League Season 21 earlier this year, Vitality's dominant displays continue.

At BLAST Open Spring, Team Vitality waltzed into the Semifinals after finishing Group A in first place with a perfect map record of 6-0. Now, Team Spirit will need to bring their A-game to this match or risk becoming yet another brick in the way of the Vitality wrecking ball.

Team Spirit on the rise

By grace of donk, Spirit have grown to become one of the fiercest teams in Counter-Strike. Despite this, the squad have suffered their ups and downs to start the year, but appear to be hitting their stride at just the right time.

To get to these Semifinals, Team Spirit dominated a NAVI squad that stood at the top of the scene not too long ago. Over their Quarterfinals match, Spirit disposed of NAVI across two quick maps, losing just 13 rounds in total over the course of the series.

Heading into their match against Vitality, Team Spirit's run at BLAST Open Spring has not been as clean as that of their opponents, however. Over the course of the tournament, Spirit have had to play a total of 11 maps to get to this point. Vitality's 6 total maps, meanwhile, illustrate a far shorter road to the Semifinals.

The toughest steel, however, is often forged in the heat of battle, and Team Spirit looks to have made the most of their arduous path as the team looks to be playing their best Counter-Strike yet at the perfect point in the tournament.

Stars collide: ZywOo vs donk

Donk comes into this Semifinal match carrying on the stellar form he showcased in 2024. Leading up to this match against Vitality, donk has been putting up over 22 kills per map at BLAST Open Spring so far, and continues to be a big part of Team Spirit's success.

Meanwhile, ZywOo's 18 kills per map at the tournament may pale in comparison, but the truth is Vitality often crush their opponents before anyone even has a chance to cross the 20 kill mark. Incredibly, ZywOo remains at the top of his game despite setting a ludicrous standard for himself.

This time, however, the French sniper sees himself surrounded by a top-tier supportive cast that ensure not all of the weight falls on ZywOo's shoulders. The question now remains, can donk's firepower prove enough to penetrate Vitality's bullet-proof style of Counter-Strike?

Our prediction

Team Spirit look to be on the rise, and their latest showing against NAVI should serve as proof that they have what it takes to make it all the way at BLAST Open Spring. And yet, Team Vitality have shown little to no signs of weakness in their play in recent months, and will be hungry to get their hands on their third consecutive trophy.

Though the maps should turn out to be hard-fought affairs, we expect Team Vitality to continue to dominate and close the series out in 2-0 fashion against Team Spirit in the end.

Don't miss out on one of the most exciting matches current Counter-Strike has to offer when ZywOo and Team Vitality take on donk and the rest of Team Spirit in this Semifinal match, starting Saturday, March 29th, at 8:30 pm CET.
