BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026: Teams, Format, Schedule, Prizes and more!

BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026: Teams, Format, Schedule, Prizes and more!

The first major BLAST Premier event of the year is almost here, and it does not disappoint. The 2026 BLAST Open Spring Rotterdam brings together 16 of the world's best teams competing for the trophy and for the biggest piece of the $1,100,000 prize pool running from March 18 to March 29, with the climactic finals landing in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

This is the opening shot of the BLAST Premier 2026 season, and the kind of tournament that sets the tone for the entire competitive year. With the best talent of the CS2 scene, serious money on the line, and a live crowd waiting in Rotterdam, the stakes could not feel higher.

The 16 Teams Fighting for It All

The lineup is stacked. Every team here has something to prove, and the mix of proven title contenders and hungry challengers makes for a genuinely unpredictable tournament. The 16 squads competing are:

How the Tournament Works

The format is clean and punishing. The 16 teams are split into two groups of eight, each running a double-elimination (GSL) bracket. Every match in the group stage is a Best of 3, so there are no easy outs and no freebies. From each group, only three teams survive to reach the playoffs:

  • Group winner: advances directly to the Semifinals
  • 2nd place: enters the Quarterfinals as the higher seed
  • 3rd place: enters the Quarterfinals as the lower seed

That means six teams total make it to the live event in Rotterdam. The Grand Final is a Best of 5, which is exactly how a tournament at this level should end.

Key Dates to Mark

  • March 18 to 23: Group Stage (played in the BLAST studio)
  • March 27 to 29: Playoffs and Grand Final (live in Rotterdam, Netherlands)

What Is at Stake

The total prize pool sits at $1,100,000, split across all 16 teams. The breakdown for the top finishers looks like this:

  • 1st place: $150,000 + $100,000 Club Share
  • 2nd place: $60,000 + $100,000 Club Share
  • 3rd to 4th place: $40,000 + $75,000 Club Share
  • 5th to 6th place: $20,000 + $55,000 Club Share
  • 7th to 8th place: $10,000 + $40,000 Club Share
  • 9th to 12th place: $7,500 + $25,000 Club Share
  • 13th to 16th place: $5,000 + $15,000 Club Share

With Vitality looking like an unstoppable force and a cast of legitimate challengers like Spirit, MOUZ, and FaZe all in the mix, Rotterdam is set up for one of the most competitive CS2 events of the year. It is also worth keeping in mind that BLAST Open results feed directly into the broader BLAST Premier standings, so every placement carries weight well beyond the trophy itself. The group stage alone should deliver fireworks, and that is before a single team even sets foot in the arena.
