The Call of Duty Major II concluded last weekend with the Atlanta Faze taking the trophy home. Along with Faze's return to the top, we also saw the multiple veterans bidding farewell to the game. One of these veterans is Optic's longtime member Scump. Optic Texas played with their substitute iLLey for the rest of the Major II. Optic Texas added Ghosty to the roster, and iLLey returns as the substitute.

Seth "Scump" Abner was a longtime member of the Call of Duty community and part of Optic since the start of Call of Duty League. He started his COD career in 2011 with Call of Duty: Black Ops with Quantum Leverage. Optic Gaming picked up Scump for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Together with Optic Gaming, Scump won multiple events. Scump and Optic played until CDL kicked off in 2020. In 2020, Scump spent a year away from the Optic. He returned under the Optic banner with Optic Chicago. Scump, in his 13 years career, won two World Champions and 30 tournaments and won $1 Million in the prize pool.

With Scump leaving, Optic's substitute iLLey, filled in for Scump. With the off-season, Optic brought Daniel "Ghosty" Rothe to fill in for Scump. iLLey will return as the substitute. Ghosty has been part of the Boston Breach Academy team. He has also been part of the Call of Duty Challengers League. Ghosty will have to fill in for the shoes of a legend. In the CDL Regular Season Leaderboard, Optic Texas is in sixth place.

Going into Major III, the team's roster will be as follows:

  • Brandon "Dashy" Otwell
  • Cuyler "Huke" Garland
  • Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas-Castro
  • Daniel "Ghosty" Rothe
  • Indervir "iLLey" Dhaliwal (Substitute)
