In what will surely be remembered as one of the most grueling contests in competitive Valorant history, BBL Esports secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over FUT Esports in their VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 Group Omega matchup.

The series, played on April 23, 2025, featured an extraordinary 48-round marathon on the first map alone, testing both teams' endurance, mental fortitude, and tactical adaptability.

Breaking Records on Ascent

The opening map, Ascent, evolved into an unprecedented battle of attrition, with BBL eventually prevailing 25-23 after nearly two and a half hours of gameplay. What began as a standard competitive match transformed into a war of nerves as both teams refused to yield ground.

BBL's defense started strong with 11 rounds, but FUT's 13 rounds on their defensive half suggested they might take the map. However, BBL's attack proved more effective, securing 14 rounds to FUT's 10, ultimately clinching the marathon map.

The individual performances on Ascent were nothing short of remarkable. BBL's LewN led the charge with an impressive 42 kills on Jett, while sociablEE contributed 40 frags on Tejo. For FUT, yetujey stood out with 23 kills on Deadlock despite the loss.

Closing Out on Icebox

The second map, Icebox, threatened to follow the same pattern when FUT mounted a comeback from a 6-12 deficit to reach 11-12. However, BBL managed to close out the map 13-11, avoiding another potential overtime scenario and securing the series 2-0.

What makes this victory particularly significant is that despite the clean 2-0 scoreline, the actual round count across both maps was a much closer 38-34 in favor of BBL, highlighting just how competitive this matchup truly was.

Setting New Benchmarks

This match instantly earned its place in Valorant esports history. The complete series of G2 versus NRG lasted for 1 hour and 31 minutes, including desk segments in between matches. In contrast, Map 1 of BBL against FUT has a duration of 2 hours and 21 minutes, making it the current longest game in VCT history.

The victory propels BBL Esports to a 4-1 record in Group Omega, solidifying their position as serious contenders for the playoffs. This result is particularly impressive considering BBL entered the tournament as underdogs compared to FUT Esports, who were favored by many analysts and betting platforms.

Turkish Titans Clash

This match adds another chapter to the growing rivalry between these two teams. Prior to this encounter, FUT had dominated the head-to-head matchups, winning 6 of their 9 previous meetings. BBL's victory not only improves their record against FUT but also demonstrates their growth as a team in the 2025 VCT season.

For FUT Esports, this defeat represents a missed opportunity to strengthen their playoff position. Despite showing tremendous resilience in both maps—nearly completing comebacks from 6-11 to 23-25 on Ascent and 6-12 to 11-13 on Icebox—they ultimately fell short.

As the VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 continues, both teams have established themselves as formidable competitors. BBL's victory in this marathon match may just be the confidence boost they need to make a deep playoff run in Berlin.
