Published by Activision, Call of Duty is amongst the most successful video game franchises of all time. The wildly popular FPS title, ranks 4th in the list of best-selling video game franchises and finds itself alongside games such as Mario, Tetris, and Pokemon.

The combat style military-themed FPS also features multiplayer modes along with a Battle Royal mode called Warzone. These modes necessitate a broadband internet connection to play the game online.

During such action-filled sessions, getting disconnected from the game can lead to frustrations. Additionally, failing to connect to the server for a pre-planned game night can definitely lead to uncalled aggression.

A big reason for the inability to connect to the Call of Duty servers might be because the servers are down at the moment. The Call of Duty servers get downtime for various reasons, including maintenance, technical issues and network outage.

The first step for troubleshooting an ‘Unable to Connect’ issue is to check the status of Call of Duty servers.

How to check if the Call of Duty servers are down

To check the Call of Duty server status, visit the Activision Support page for Online Services. Select the game you wish to check the server status for. If the page displays “All Platforms - Online”, the servers are up and the issue is not with the Call of Duty servers.

The next step is to ensure the Platform (Steam, Epic, Battle.net) is active and operational. To check the platforms availability, click on the individual platform icon on the Support page to get redirected to the ‘Platform Network Status Check’.

If there are no problems with the server, the possible reason for the issue is likely a network outage in your region. You can follow Activision Support to stay updated on the server and network outages.

If there is no network outage from Call of Duty, and the issue persists, contact your ISP for additional support.
