CalendarAt its heart, Rainbow Six Siege is a high-precision, tactical shooter that prioritises careful planning, teamwork, and finely tuned tactical play. Since its release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation, and Xbox in December of 2015, the game has radically expanded, adding extra maps, new operators, weapons, and themed seasonal events. The game has even undergone major technical overhauls, allowing for more diverse character designs.
Rainbow Six Siege puts heavy emphasis on environmental destruction and cooperation between players. Each player assumes control of an attacker or a defender in different gameplay modes such as rescuing a hostage, defusing a bomb, or taking control of an objective within a room.
Attackers, as the name suggests, are the siege force, charged with breaching, clearing, and securing the objective. Their gadgets are tuned to this effect, including a ready supply of ballistics, reconnaissance equipment, and crowd control weaponry.
Defenders must withhold the objective, reinforcing the building's entrances and fortifying key locations throughout the map. Again, their gadgets include armour and medic abilities to keep allies standing, and intel gathering & denial devices to block enemy reconnaissance.
Weapon Skins are available as a customization option in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. These can be bought with Renown or Credits. Weapon Skins are available in five rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Some are defined as Seasonal and Universal, and can be applied to several weapons while each individual weapon has their own skins. Universal skins can be applied to all existing and upcoming weapons while Seasonal skins can be applied to all weapons when the skin is released. Like several customization options, weapon skins are frequently rotated out. Active weapon skins can be currently purchased in-game while all others may only be acquired through special sales in the in-game store or Alpha Packs. Exclusive weapon skins are also accessible during expansion seasons or through the Ubisoft Club.
Rainbow Six Siege system requirements
Rainbow 6 Siege does not have a true campaign.
It does however have a set of 11 tactical situations which gradually introduce the player to all game features. The 11th situation works as a is a multiplayer PvE game which can be associated with team Rainbow in the Tom Clancy novels.
Tom Clancy is a uniquely talented author who wrote about team Rainbow in various different novels namely, Rainbow Six, as well as The Bear and The Dragon.
The name of the counter-terrorist agency leader is Six. Six is the number of people involved in each team, their officer (announcer), and five shooters. However, it originates from the figure widely known as six who takes control over Rainbow when it is reactivated.
In the Rainbow novel, Rainbow was reactivated to battle a terrorist organisation called the White masks. This is why all terrorists in Siege wear white masks.
The game developers have mentioned on livestream that the reason there is no campaign is because the novels had the campaign. They went on to explain that they could not have done the story justice if they included a campaign.
How to improve your skills in Rainbow 6 Siege
Skills are an integral part of any player's development in any game, and Rainbow Six Siege is no exception.
In Siege, players have to acquire various functional and knowledge-based skills including aim and map knowledge.
You'll never improve your skills unless you practice them.
There's nothing more important than the quality of your practice, and there's no substitute for putting in the hours.
The most vital aspect of success in this game is acquring map knowledge.
R6 Siege places map knowledge importance on another level due to destructibility of the map and exceeding possibilities in the game.
As well as map layout knowledge, objective locations, and destruction opportunities, it is critical to assimilate strategies for each objective site.
Thanks to advanced destructibility as well as broad operator choice, strategies that are available in Rainbow Six Siege are unlimited.
There are also basic priorities and strategies for most objective sites that all players should learn. This helps players learn how to attack and defend.
Rainbow Six Siege is an extremely popular and complex first-person shooter on the current games market. Rainbow Six is an interesting and unique blend of milsim games and round-based tactical shooters, similar to Counter-Strike, but with a lot more character and strategy.
If you're looking for a game similar to Squad or ARMA, Siege probably isn't for you.
At its core, Siege is an excellent game, even if it isn't 100% aligned with Tom Clancy branding. If you enjoy military simulators, Siege is most likely going to be a bit fast-paced for your taste, but if you've played it before, you'll know what you're getting yourself into.
There are still numerous tactics and gadgets to make use of — even if the original darkness and grittiness that was present in the first games wasn't there at launch, and seems to be gradually fading.
