The Best 3 Offlaners Of Dota 2 Patch 7.41a

Despite arriving in the middle of a tournament, patch 7.41 was no small fish, and offlaners now have a broader set of options to pick from. Patch 7.41a was released shortly after as a balancing update, still during ESL One Birmingham.

Some offlane heroes got the best out of 7.41, as they were buffed after facets were removed and avoided significant nerfs in 7.41a. Let’s take a look at the offlaners that have performed the best so far.

Doom

You Can't Escape Certain Doom

Doom received a fully thematic patch in 7.41, with most of his abilities’ stats changed to iterations of 666. The highlight of his new identity is his innate ability, LVL ? Pain, which applies a curse to enemies when they are attacked.

Following the update, interest in Doom spiked, and the hero gained over a 4% increase in win rate in a matter of days. This led to a small nerf in 7.41a, reducing his base armor by 1 to balance his increased HP regeneration, along with a more significant nerf that reduced the innate’s curse damage from 15% to 10% of the damage dealt by the hero after the curse is applied.

Despite the nerfs, Doom remains strong. He is better in lane due to his high health regeneration, and the curse is still powerful because it does not specify the type of damage dealt, opening the possibility for a magic burst damage item build.

Tidehunter

The Power of Fish is Stronger Than We Thought

Tidehunter got his old Kraken Shell back, along with a small rework to Anchor Smash that allows him to increase its attack range. The ability is now based on a base range of 225, with additional range scaling based on Tide’s attack range.

That aside, the most broken aspect of Tidehunter is his new innate ability, Leviathan’s Catch. Whenever an enemy hero dies while affected by any of Tidehunter’s debuffs, or is killed by him, they drop a fish that can either be consumed or denied by enemies.

Each fish grants Tidehunter 3 max health, 2 attack range, and 1 bonus damage block. Abilities that stack with no cap have always tended to break Dota, and despite already being popular, Tide saw a 2.27% increase in win rate and a 1.27% increase in pick rate.

Night Stalker

Here Comes the Night and Monsters Are on the Loose

Finally, Night Stalker is the third option on our list, serving as a solid offlaner who received plenty of buffs and no nerfs in the balancing patch. Hunter in the Night was added as his new innate, bringing a range of improvements.

Now, Hunter in the Night provides more movement speed and attack speed at level 30. On top of that, it can be upgraded by Aghanim’s Scepter, granting Night Stalker 15% bonus movement speed, 50 bonus attack speed and resetting the cooldowns of all basic abilities upon killing an enemy.

His new Midnight Feast ability gives Balanar passive lifesteal on attacks, and his old Aghanim’s Shard was added to it as an active component, granting the ability to consume non-ancient creeps to restore health and mana.
