Team Vitality has cemented their status as the undisputed kings of CS2 by defeating Team Falcons 3-2 in a thrilling BLAST Rivals 2025 S1 Grand Finals today. The victory marks Vitality's fifth consecutive tournament win and extends their remarkable winning streak to 25 matches.

A Five-Map Thriller

The championship showdown delivered all the drama fans could hope for, with the series going the full distance across five intense maps. Team Falcons started strong by claiming Inferno 13-9, but Vitality responded with commanding 13-6 victories on both Dust2 and Train. Falcons forced a decisive fifth map by edging out a nail-biting 16-14 overtime victory on Mirage, but Team Vitality ultimately closed out the series with a 13-8 win on Nuke.

The French Powerhouse Prevails

This victory adds another trophy to Vitality's already impressive collection this year, following their triumph at IEM Melbourne where they completed the ESL Grand Slam, along with earlier wins at EPL, Katowice, and Dallas. Their 25-match winning streak now stands as the second-longest in CS history, behind only the Ninjas in Pyjamas' legendary 60-0 run.

Star Performances

Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut once again proved why he's considered CS2's premier talent, delivering a stellar performance across all five maps with 90 kills, 84.6 ADR, and a 1.30 rating. This earned him his 25th career MVP award.

Robin "ropz" Kool matched ZywOo's impact with an identical 1.30 rating, posting 91 kills and the highest ADR of the series at 90.0. Shahar "flameZ" Shushan also had standout moments, particularly on Train where his entry frags proved decisive.

For Falcons, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov led the charge with a team-high 92 kills and 1.15 rating. His AWP heroics on Mirage, including a clutch 1v2 in overtime, showcased why he's been such a valuable addition to the roster.

A Budding Rivalry

This marks the second consecutive grand final clash between these two teams, following their showdown at IEM Melbourne. While Vitality continues to reign supreme, Falcons have established themselves as legitimate contenders with their upgraded roster featuring m0NESY.

"Another one with five maps. I think I'm dying," joked Vitality's in-game leader Dan "apEX" Madesclaire after the match.

"We played so well and so badly at the same time... But we won again on Nuke. It feels good."

Looking Ahead: The Vitality Era

With this victory, Vitality has firmly established what many are now calling "The Vitality Era" in Counter-Strike 2. Their combination of strategic depth, individual brilliance, and clutch performance continues to set the standard in professional CS2.

For Falcons, despite falling short again, their continued presence in major finals suggests it's only a matter of time before they break through.

The question remains: can anyone stop Team Vitality's historic run, or will they continue to define this era of Counter-Strike?
