Team Liquid Brazil Defeat Shopify Rebellion Gold in Game Changers Championship Grand Finals
Team Liquid Brazil have shattered Shopify Rebellion Gold’s dream of a three-peat Championship win in Seoul. After a lengthy back-and-forth bout between the two teams, Liquid successfully paid back the North American squad for their bitter defeat in the Grand Finals two years ago on home soil in São Paulo.
With this, Team Liquid become the first South American representative to lift the GGC trophy, joining an elite group of players and the third ever team to do so.
Team Liquid Crowned Champions over Shopify Rebellion
Following a flawless year of results, the North American squad came into Seoul as favorites for the three-peat. Not only were they the defending champions, but few teams coming into the tournament had the wealth of competitive international experience this lineup had.
That said, as the tournament progressed, SR proved they were a cut above the rest – until they faced Liquid. The Brazilian side handed them their first official defeat of the season in the Upper Finals, setting the stage for an incredible Grand Finals rematch.
A closely contested Map 1 of Haven went to SR after late-game adjustments successfully allowed the team to close out against the strong Brazilian side.
This was followed by another close game on Pearl where this time, Liquid pulled it back from a 2 round deficit to close it out.
On Bind, SR led a commanding 9-3 lead coming into the second half, but were unable to adapt to Liquid’s defense, only taking a single round after the halftime.
On Sunset, Liquid’s usual stalwart performance faltered against an aggressive Shopify, only picking up 6 rounds as the North American side forced a decider Map 5.
It was on Split, however, where the cracks began to show for Shopify, as Liquid successfully outmaneuvered them, especially on Attack. After pivotal round wins late in the game, Liquid took down the two-time champions to crown themselves the new World Champion.

After the departure of Ava “florescent” Eugene, some speculated that Shopify would struggle to reach the same heights of success without their star duelist. However, the pickup of Karnthida “dodonut” Chaisrakeo proved successful and the team’s chemistry and level remained steady.
Despite not winning the Championship this season, their run as a whole over the year 2025 is nothing short of impressive.
Victory for Brazil
In a bright year for Brazilian FPS, Liquid deliver another massive win to cap out the region’s year. After a strong year’s performance in their region, Liquid pulled out ahead in one of the most impressive runs of the tournament.
Not only did they take down former champions G2 Gozen in the UB semifinals, but they also faced and conquered Shopify Rebellion twice, once in the UB Finals and again in the Grand Finals, leaving no doubt who the best team in the tournament was.
