The investments have finally paid off! Team Falcons, a congregation of superstars from three different generations, have finally done it. After their win over 3DMAX, have secured the No. 1 spot on the VRS Rankings.

What does it mean?

Full disclosure: Falcons secured the No. 1 spot in the live ranking leaderboard available on Valve’s official data provider, HLTV. These rankings are a live simulation of the VRS, using match data and Valve’s algorithm.

However, the rankings might see an overhaul following the third EPL S22 quarterfinal featuring Team Spirit and FaZe Clan. The leaderboard will continue to change as the playoffs progress, and if the Falcons want to keep their spot, they must win the event.

Are Team Falcons the Best Team in the World?

Team Falcons’ rise to the top can be attributed to two big reasons. First, their strong performances at FISSURE and EWC (3rd-4th), followed by a dominant 3-0 EPL S22 Stage 2 run. Second, both The MongolZ and FURIA (the previous leaders) struggled during the EPL, allowing the superteam to secure the top spot.

But if we assess their performance, they are not yet the best in the world. Sure, they have some of the finest players firing on all cylinders, but their defense and synergy lack the conviction of a true top team.

This was evident in their series against 3DMAX — the match that secured them the No. 1 spot. On the final map, Nuke, Falcons held a 9-3 lead on T-side but allowed 3DMAX to come back and force overtime. They lost multiple rounds on defense despite early advantages.

If Falcons, given their star power, want to contend with the best, they need to iron out these mistakes — the kind that can cost them tournaments.

Tomorrow, October 11, either NAVI or MOUZ will test the legitimacy of Falcons’ claim to the No. 1 spot. Watch the action live on  YouTube | Twitch | ESL Website.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
