T1 Get Dominated in Their LCK 2026 Season Debut
After a rough start to the year for the reigning World Champions, things just went from bad to worse for T1. The LCK 2026 Season was meant to be one of redemption and growth for the team; instead, T1 kicked off the new split in the worst possible way after getting utterly dominated by KT Rolster in their debut match.
T1 Look Lost; KT Secure Revenge
Starting the season with a win is always a good thing. But in truth, it's about more than that for KT. Just months ago, Bdd and co. stood one game away from becoming World Champions. Instead, Faker and the rest of T1 stood in their way, turning the Worlds 2025 Grand Finals around to deny KT the most coveted trophy in League of Legends.
With that in mind, this victory must have felt particularly sweet for the KT boys; all the more so because they didn't just defeat T1, they dominated them. Suffice it to say that, had Doran not taken down an enemy outter turret (while KT teared through the T1 base), T1 would have gotten perfect-gamed by KT.
What Went Wrong for T1?
The most straightforward answer to this question is: A lot of things. Between PerfecT solo-killing Doran (twice), Cuzz relentlessly setting the tempo throughout, and KT's overall superior teamfighting, T1 simply never stood a chance.
In Game 1, T1 looked lost. The World Champs were getting caught left and right from early on, relinquishing objectives until KT's lead rose past the point of no return. The second game was a more competitive affair, but when push came to shove, KT's double-AD-carry (Vayne and Yunara) comp meant that Doran and Oner (K'Sante and Vi) just weren't allowed to walk up in teamfights without losing most of their HP at a moment's notice. That, coupled with an effective Nocturne + Lulu combo by Cuzz and Effort, meant that KT's teamfighting would always look superior when it mattered.
While T1 struggled, KT looked sharp, active, and willing to test their own limits. This may have only been one match, but the signs look overwhelmingly positive as KT look to get back to top form.
A Long Way Up
After a disappointing run through the 2026 LCK Cup that saw the team miss out on First Stand, T1 are in desperate need of a turnaround. Historically speaking, this team has always looked better late into the year (hence the incredible six Worlds titles); but while that may well be true, T1 have never really looked this off-course.
The LCK 2026 Season has only just begun, though, and a few months of competition at such a high level is sure to help T1 get to where they want to be. If this team has any hopes of coming away with what would be an incredible fourth consecutive Worlds title, however, the path ahead looks long and arduous.
