PGL Confirms Six CS2 Tournaments for 2028 With $11 Million Investment

PGL has confirmed six Counter-Strike 2 tournaments for 2028, with $11 million in annual funding. The organizer announced the finalized dates on Friday, October 16, scaling back its previous plan for eight events that year.

The tournaments are part of PGL's Tier 1 Program for 2027 and 2028, unveiled in March. Of the $11 million allocated to each season, $6 million will go toward prize money for players and organizations. The remaining $5 million will fund incentives tied to Valve Regional Standings (VRS) invitations and tournament viewership.

PGL's Full CS2 Tournament Schedule for 2028

• Event 1: January 14-24
• Event 2: February 9-21
• Event 3: March 23-April 3
• Event 4: April 19-May 1
• Event 5: August 31-September 11
• Event 6: October 4-16

Two previously announced tournament windows, August 16-28 and November 1-13, are no longer on the calendar. PGL has not yet announced host cities for the six 2028 events.

PGL's CS2 Tournaments in 2026

PGL has already held three CS2 tournaments in 2026. PGL Cluj-Napoca ended with Team Vitality sweeping PARIVISION 3-0 in February, while PGL Bucharest saw FUT Esports defeat Astralis 3-1 in April. PGL Astana followed in May, with Team Spirit beating Team Falcons 3-0 in the final.

Two events remain on PGL's 2026 calendar: PGL Masters Bucharest, scheduled for October 24-31, and the PGL Singapore Major, running from November 25 to December 13.

PGL also has six CS2 tournaments planned for 2027. The first will be PGL Bucharest 2027, scheduled for January 17-24.
