Major Champions Reunite: Stewie2k Is Building a New CS2 Roster and It's Stacked

North America's Counter-Strike scene just got its most exciting piece of news in years. Jake "Stewie2k" Yip is reportedly building a brand-new CS2 roster, and the names attached to it are enough to make any NA fan lose their mind.

A livestream leak nobody was ready for

The news didn't come through a formal press release or an org announcement. It came out during a co-stream of IEM Atlanta 2026, when content creator Austin "Cooper" Abadir casually dropped that a new North American lineup was taking shape.

What made it even wilder is that Stewie2k was watching the stream himself and confirmed the details in the chat, giving Cooper the green light to share everything with the world.

Stewie2k also posted a message that set the tone for the whole project: "We are building a roster without an org and want to show you we are not playing for money." That's not just talk. That's a mission statement.

Three Major winners, one roster

According to the leak, the full lineup is set to be:

• Jake "Stewie2k" Yip
• Timothy "autimatic" Ta
• Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham
• Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
• Victor "Victor" Wong

Three of those names, Stewie2k, autimatic, and Skadoodle, were part of the iconic Cloud9 roster that made history at the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018, becoming the first and only North American team to ever lift a CS:GO Major trophy. Brehze is a proven NA rifle powerhouse who spent years as one of the most feared players on Evil Geniuses. Victor Wong rounds out the five with experience across both CS and VALORANT rosters.

Stewie2k's hunger never went away

Anyone who doubted whether Stewie2k still had the goods got their answer at IEM Dallas 2024. He stepped in as a stand-in for G2 Esports and helped the team win the whole tournament. Not a fluke. Not a cameo. A full-on championship run that reminded everyone why he was one of the most electric players in NA history.

Skadoodle's potential return is the real curveball here. He stepped far back from competitive play and the idea of seeing him back on a serious roster feels almost surreal. If he brings even a fraction of what he showed during the Boston Major run, this team has a genuinely scary ceiling.

No org, no excuses, just Counter-Strike

The choice to build without organizational backing is a bold one, and it says a lot about where these players' heads are at. No pressure from sponsors, no brand strategy to worry about. Just five players who want to compete and prove that NA Counter-Strike still has a heartbeat.
