Gen.G Emerges as First Team to Qualify for First Stand 2026

After dominating the group stage, Gen.G have continued their undefeated run to become the first team to qualify for First Stand 2026. At the LCK Cup Upper Bracket finals, They defeated BNK FearX solidifying their place in the Grand Finals of the event.

Gen.G dominates Korea

Going into the year with the same roster as 2025, Gen.G was always going to be the LCK’s representative on the biggest stages of LoL esports. As expected, they completely annihilated the Group Stage, securing the Playoffs without dropping a single game.

Even against Hanwha Life Esports, who defeated them to win the 2025 edition of the LCK Cup, Gen.G did not falter, sweeping their opponents.

The LCK Cup Playoffs weren’t any different. They did drop a game against Dplus KIA, but secured the series. Playing in the Upper Bracket finals against BNK FearX, a team that swept T1, Gen.G only dropped a game before closing it out. This win not only secured them the LCK Cup Grand Finals but also tickets to First Stand 2026.

First Stand in Gen.G’s Sight

Gen.G missed the inaugural edition of First Stand last year, after losing to HLE in the LCK Cup 2025. This year will be their chance to lift the latest LoL esports trophy for themselves.

With their roster’s strength, they will enter the eight-team tournament, hosted by São Paulo, as the favorites to win. Moreover, their biggest challenge for the trophy will be the second LCK representative, who will also challenge them for the LCK Cup 2026.

The LCK Cup 2026 action continues tomorrow, with T1 taking on Dplus KIA in an elimination game.
