After making the second stage of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 by the slimmest margin (0.4 seconds, to be precise), FaZe Clan have tapped into the magic once more. Today, on day 6 of the Major, they defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas, going through Stage 2 without dropping a single map; a drastic shift from their Stage 1 performance.

FaZe Magic Lives On!

One word that defined FaZe’s Budapest Major 2025 Stage 1 was disappointment. They lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas and NRG to go down 1-2. They almost lost to RED Canids on Nuke, a loss that could’ve ended their journey. But they came back, winning that map and the series and the following one to qualify for Stage 2.

After the performance, expectations for FaZe Clan were low. But now they have completely subverted the expectations, first taking down Passion UA convincingly, then Aurora Gaming, — a favorite to go 3-0 — to secure three qualification chances for themselves.

NIP defeated at Budapest Major 2025 Stage 2

NIP were one of the most impressive teams to come out of Stage 1, and were an easy choice to qualify to the third stage. In their previous encounter, they sent FaZe down to the 1-2 bracket, which almost led to their exit.

NIP weren’t the toughest opponent FaZe could face, but given the recent record, it was a slightly uphill battle. This climb intensified after NIP secured a 9-3 lead on their map pick, but FaZe came back to secure a 16-12 win. Nuke was simply a replay of Inferno: FaZe went down 5-7 and came back to win the series 2-0.

FaZe jcobbb Is Here

Despite the heavy criticism coming his way after Stage 1, there have been more than glimpses of jcobbb’s strength. Against Aurora, he put on a 24-kill masterclass. Even when he doesn’t necessarily frag out, he has been a solid role player.

His performance in tandem with Twistzz, frozen, or both, has been the reason FaZe won the games that they have won. This doesn’t mean jcobbb isn’t struggling at all, but he is slowly 'scaling with the stages' like a true FaZe CS member.

FaZe Clan will now play Budapest Major Stage 3, joining the giants of Vitality, Spirit, FURIA, and others. On the second stream, Astralis eliminated FlyQuest. Budapest Major 2025 is still live with 0-3 and 3-0 games.
