Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau and Estral Esports will not reach the CBLOL 2027 through the Promotion Tournament. Estral lost 3-2 to KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas on Tuesday (6), ending their run one series short of the Promotion Tournament Grand Final.

The tournament determines which organization will hold the CBLOL's Guest Team slot for the entire 2027 season. For Estral, the elimination is a dramatic reversal from a dominant run through Brazil's Tier 2 League of Legends competition only a few weeks earlier.

Estral completed the Circuito Desafiante with a perfect 19-0 record, going undefeated through both the regular season and playoffs. Their final opponent was KaBuM, whom Estral swept 3-0 to win the title.

Estral's Perfect Tier 2 Run Does Not Carry Into Promotion Tournament

Estral initially carried that momentum into the Promotion Tournament. They swept 9z Globant 3-0 in their opening series, putting themselves one win away from the Grand Final.

Their undefeated run came to a sudden stop against LOS. The reigning CBLOL Guest Team swept Estral 3-0 in the Upper Bracket Final, sending Bwipo and company to the lower bracket.

The opponent waiting there was KaBuM, setting up a rematch of the Circuito Desafiante final. Less than a month after Estral had beaten them without dropping a game, KaBuM had another chance to end their rivals' hopes of reaching Tier 1.

KaBuM Survive Estral Comeback in Game 5

KaBuM took control of the series early, winning the first two games and moving within one victory of the Grand Final. Estral responded with back-to-back wins to erase the deficit and force a fifth game.

This time, KaBuM stopped the comeback. They won the decider to close out the series 3-2, eliminating the Circuito Desafiante champions and earning a rematch with LOS in the Promotion Tournament Grand Final.

Estral CEO Calls Out Team After Elimination

Jerry, Estral's CEO, reacted shortly after the series and made no attempt to hide his frustration with the loss.

"At a loss for words, damn hahahaha!!! The players choked. So embarrassing what happened today! Anyway, I had fun this year!! Warm hugs, friends!! And thanks to everyone who came along on this P/R journey down south. Neither of the two worked out, neither north nor south. I think it's better to just hit Escape!!! I'll start the stream later..."

The loss brings Estral's 2026 season to an abrupt end after a project that generated considerable attention in Brazil. The organization assembled a roster with several established names and turned it into an undefeated Tier 2 championship, but that dominance was not enough to secure promotion to the CBLOL.

Bwipo was the biggest name added to the roster for the second split. The former Fnatic and FlyQuest top laner won the Circuito Desafiante in his first tournament with Estral, but had already suggested that remaining in Brazil was not his preferred plan for 2027.

Bwipo has made a return to Europe one of his main career goals, saying he wants to win the LEC while Caps is still competing in the region. He did leave the door open to staying in Brazil if a return to Europe does not materialize.

KaBuM and LOS Will Play for the CBLOL 2027 Spot

KaBuM will face LOS in the Promotion Tournament Grand Final on October 12. The winner will claim the Guest Team slot for CBLOL 2027.

It will be their second meeting of the tournament. LOS swept KaBuM 3-0 in the upper bracket before defeating Estral by the same score to reach the final.

The situation surrounding LOS makes the series particularly unusual. The organization has already qualified for Worlds 2026 and will play in the CBLOL 2026 Grand Final on October 10, just two days before putting its Tier 1 status on the line against KaBuM.
