BetBoom did not come to the CS2 IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 to make up the numbers. They swept Team Falcons 2-0 in Round 2 of the Swiss stage, sending one of the world's top-three teams into the 1-1 pool with a performance nobody expected from the 13th-ranked side in the world.

Falcons Flew Right Into a Wall

Falcons arrived at Stage 3 in good shape after opening the stage with a win over G2. The roster was clicking, confidence was high, and BetBoom looked like a winnable match on paper. That paper got torn up fast.

The Russian squad came in with a 3-1 record from Stage 2, beating GamerLegion, M80, and Monte along the way, then opened Stage 3 by taking down The MongolZ. They were sharp, they were hungry, and Falcons walked right into them at the worst possible time.

BetBoom Locked In and Never Let Go

On Nuke, BetBoom's pick, Falcons secured an early advantage, but the CT side was where BetBoom built their advantage. Falcons kept searching for answers on the attacking side and kept coming up short. BetBoom closed it 13-11 without ever looking like they were about to drop it.

Ancient was supposed to be different. Falcons had the map pick and should have been in their comfort zone. Instead, BetBoom carried their momentum straight into the second half and ran Falcons off their own map 13-10. Two maps, zero adjustments that worked, and a 2-0 scoreline that said everything.

Shoutout to Magnojez

Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov put on a great performance for us. The BetBoom rifler posted 47 kills and a 108.6 ADR across both maps, earning player of the match by a wide margin. He dictated space, forced bad trades, and made Falcons constantly react to him rather than play their own game.

TeSeS was Falcons' best performer on the day, but the numbers across the board were off. NiKo and m0NESY, two players capable of single-handedly winning maps, never found their rhythm. When those two are quiet, their team has a problem, and BetBoom knew exactly how to keep them that way.

Falcons Closer to Going Home

BetBoom are now 2-0 in Stage 3 and one win from securing a playoff spot. This team seems to be building something real at this event, and the scoreboard backs it up.

Falcons are now entering dangerous territory with a 1-1 in the Swiss stage. The talent on that roster was never in question, and they are more than capable of bouncing back. But the margin shrinks with every loss, and a couple more slips means their Major run ends before the playoffs even start.

They need to find answers, and they need to find them fast.
