Magixx's 1v4 Clutch (Mirage)

The first true CS2-era player reference belongs to Boris "magixx" Vorobyev of Team Spirit, honoring his mind-bending 1v4 clutch against G2 Esports in round 37 of Map 3—Mirage—at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 quarterfinals.

He closed out the round entirely through a single spray-down with his AK-47, staying true to the nickname "Boris the Butcher" and cementing his name in the Lanxess Arena.

Caster Hugo Byron's call has already become the moment's signature line: 

"The Butcher with the cleaver cut down G2's hopes and dreams."

Valve immortalized the clutch with a tribute on the Market shelves next to B-site on Mirage: four jars labeled in Russian which roughly translate to "Tomato Dressing 4x," referencing the round's four-kill massacre. The Easter egg is a suitable nod to caster Harry "JustHarry" Russell's now-legendary broadcast line: "Boris did it bigger, Boris did it better."

Olofmeister's Burning Defuse (Overpass)

With the map tied 14-14, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer began defusing as a molotov landed on him. He held the defuse through the fire, completing it a split second before it would've cost him the round.

The "olofboost" Warning Sign (Overpass) - Removed

Fnatic's 4 AWP Setup (Dust II) - Removed

• Fate: Removed in the 2017 Dust2 remake

Coldzera's Jumping AWP (Mirage)

Facing tournament point at 15-9, Marcelo "coldzera" David defended a B-site rush with a jumping, falling, no-scope AWP collateral that shattered Liquid's momentum. Luminosity forced overtime, won the Major, and this play is still argued as the greatest in CS history.

S1mple's Falling No-Scope (Cache) - Removed

• Fate: Removed in the CS2 Inferno rework

Unable to win a 1v3 retake, Mikhail "Dosia" Stolyarov threw a perfectly timed HE grenade into Pit right before the C4 detonated. The chip damage combined with the bomb blast wiped Immortals' saving players and their economy in one move.

AGO's Wolf Signature (Blacksite) - Removed

• The play: IEM Katowice 2019 Danger Zone Showmatch
  
• Location: Rooftop of the Tourist building, Blacksite
• Fate: Blacksite did not the transition CS2, erasing the graffiti from the game completely

During IEM Season XIII World Championship, a pre-final showmatch offered a rare prize: a permanent graffiti for the winners. AGO Esports' Furlan and GruBy claimed victory, with Furlan clutching the final round against SPUNJ and jks by picking off both from the roof of Tourist.

Valve honored the moment with a permanent graffiti near Furlan's exact vantage point on the roof, featuring both players' autographs alongside a wolf, cementing their Danger Zone showmatch win into CS2 history.
